Boris Chatalbashev is a Bulgarian chess player who became a Grandmaster in 1995. He was born on 14th September 1969 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
In his early career, he won the European Youth Chess Championship U20 in 1990, and then the Bulgarian Chess Championship in 2015.
He is known to compete in international tournaments, making notable appearances. In 1997, Chatalbashev won the World Open (chess) in Philadelphia, sharing the first place with seven players. In 1999, he won the Bermuda open tournament Happy Valley-Gothenburg. In 2014, he played in the Chess Olympiad as a member of the Denmark national chess team. In 2018, he won the Danish Chess Championship.
