Emilio Córdova is a chess Grandmaster from Peru. He was born on March 24, 1991, and received the title of International Master in 2004 while still a teenager. Since childhood, Cordova has been successful in both national and international competitions. He was the under-10 Peruvian Champion in 2001, and he won the Continental Absolute Championship in 2004.
Cordova went on to gain the title of Grandmaster in 2008. He has also been a part of the national team that competes in the Chess Olympiad - a biennial chess tournament in which teams from all over the world compete.
Cordova impressively won the 2002 World School Chess Championship in the under-12 category. Moreover, he has also won at the American Continental Chess Championship twice, in 2012 and 2019, and both times, securing his place in the World Chess Championship competition.
