Kevin Joel Cori Quispe is a Peruvian chess player who earned the title of Grandmaster in 2013. He was born on February 2, 1995, in Lima, Peru. As a player, he has gained a reputation for his positional and tactical prowess, as well as his ability to positively exploit imbalances.
Kevin Cori gained three international Master norms in 2009, 2010, and 2011 to attain the International Master title. Subsequently, he attained his Grandmaster norms in Montevideo, Buenos Aires, and Philadelphia. Thus, he became the youngest Peruvian to achieve the highest title in chess outstripping the record set by Julio Granda.
His sibling, Deysi Cori, is also an international Master and Woman Grandmaster. She has also won multiple World Youth Chess Championships. The Peruvian siblings have thus created a mark in the global chess fraternity.
