Matthieu Cornette is a French chess Grandmaster. Born on March 6, 1985, in Brest, France, he achieved the rank of Grandmaster, the highest in the game of chess, in 2010. Cornette was a two-time French Junior Champion in 2001 and 2004. He has also been recognized for his exceptional play in international competition. In 2011, he reached the quarterfinals of the European Chess Championship. He has also been a member of the French team since 2009, and has competed in the World Team Chess Championship with the team in 2010. In addition to playing chess, Cornette is also recognized for his contributions in promoting the game. He received the title of FIDE Trainer in 2015 as a recognition for his role in training players.
