José Fernando Cuenca Jiménez is a Spanish chess player and Grandmaster, born on June 11, 1991, in Utrera (Seville). He has proudly represented Spain in various national and international competitions. He is recognised for his contribution to online chess, specifically through his YouTube channel, where he creates and shares content regarding chess through instructive videos and streaming.
Cuenca's passion for the game took root at age 10 and at the age of 13, he won the 2005 National Children's Championship, leading to his first international competitions. By 2004, he achieved the title of FIDE Master and later in 2015, he earned the title of International Grandmaster.
Throughout his career, he participated in numerous esteemed tournaments. Some of his major achievements include winning the Spanish Blitz Championship in 2015, Andalusian Rapid Championship in 2016, and Spanish Internet Rapid Championship in 2020. He has also participated at the national level, representing Andalusia in Spanish Autonomous Communities. He played on the Olympic team in 2016 and 2018.
