Oganes Danielian is an Armenian chess Grandmaster. He was born on June 5, 1981 in Yerevan, Armenia. Danielian was awarded the title of International Master in 2001, and a few years later in 2006 he obtained the title of Grandmaster (GM), the highest title a chess player can attain.


Danielian’s career contains many professional victories. He achieved his first significant victory at the Armenian Championship in 2003, where he won first place. In 2004, he tied for first with Hikaru Nakamura, Surya Shekhar Ganguly and Marat Dzhumaev in the Mumbai Mayor's Cup tournament. A couple of years later, in 2006, he won the Villa de Sort International tournament in Spain and the international tournament in Alessandria, Italy. In 2007, he tied for 3rd-6th with David Arutinian, Vugar Gashimov and Euwe Stimulans in the Reykjavik Open and came in 2nd (behind Sergei Tiviakov) in the Cappelle-la-Grande Open Tournament.


Notably, in 2008, Danielian won the 1st Karen Asrian Memorial tournament in Jermuk, Armenia. In 2009, he came in 1st place at the open international tournament in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan, and also tied for 6th-7th with Viktor Laznicka in the Aeroflot Open.
