Jesús María de la Villa García (born September 27, 1950) is a Spanish chess Grandmaster and chess writer. He was born in Palencia City, Spain. Villa came up the ranks during Franco's regime when there was a lack of opportunities and resources for chess players. Despite this, he won the Spanish Championship twice in 1973 and 1977.

In 1974, he acted as second to Grandmaster Larry Christiansen, helping him during his participation in the World Junior Championship. Later, Villa completed his law studies and began to work as Technico de Ajedrez at the Chess Club Peon de Oro. In 1977, he obtained an International Master title, followed by Grandmaster in 1985.

Villa continued to play in international tournaments until the early 2000s. However, he gradually transitioned more toward writing and teaching. He wrote several books, most notably "Dismantling the Sicilian" in 2009, which was published in four languages and has been very well received by the chess community. He is currently a Spanish delegate in FIDE, the International Chess Federation.
