Erald Dervishi is an Albanian chess player who was given the title of Grandmaster in 1998 by FIDE, the international chess organization. He was born on 6 September, 1979 in Elbasan, Albania.
He is notable for being one of the strongest chess players in Albania and has represented his country in several international chess competitions. He's a two-time winner of the Albanian Chess Championship in 1996 and 2004, and represented Albania in eight Chess Olympiads between 1998 and 2014. Dervishi also won the Mediterranean Chess Championship in 2000.
Dervishi played for the ECC Rishon Lezion team in the European Chess Club Cup in 2005. He was appointed as the head coach of the Albanian Women's National Team in 2008 where he had the opportunity to coach in two Chess Olympiads. He has been an active chess player for most of his life and continues to be involved in competitive chess.
