André Diamant is a Brazilian-Ukrainian chess grandmaster and former Brazilian Chess Champion. He was born in Odessa, Ukraine on January 9, 1990, emigrating to Brazil with his family when he was eight and starting his chess career soon afterwards.
Diamant earned the titles of FIDE Master in 2004 and International Master in 2006 before becoming a Grandmaster in 2008. Throughout his career, he has won many significant tournaments including the Brazilian Chess Championship in 2007 and the Pan American Junior Championship in 2008.
In 2009, Diamant moved to the United States to enrol at the University of Texas at Dallas after being offered a scholarship from the university's chess program. His achievements during this time include winning the 2010 UT Dallas GM Invitational and the Southwest Open, a Texas state championship, in 2014.
