Andreas Diermair is an Austrian chess player who achieved the title of International Chess Master in 2007 and Grandmaster in 2017. He was born on April 6, 1986 in Graz, Austria. Diermair won the Austrian championship in 2015 with a result of 7.5/9.

After securing his International Master title, Diermair continued to compete in international chess tournaments. Between 2008 and 2011, he completed his studies and became more focused on his work as a chess coach, leading to a reduced number of tournament appearances. However, he was able to achieve the norm for the National Champion title after winning the Austrian Championship in 2015. He finally secured his Grandmaster title after he earned the two last norms in Spanish team championships.

In addition to his role as a player, Diermair worked for a year as a database expert for ChessBase in Hamburg, Germany, and since his championship win, he has been intensively working as a trainer. He has served as the national coach for Austria and coached the Austrian women's national team several times at the European Team Championships. He also authored a book "The Queen's Indian Defence" published in 2017.

Besides his chess career, he is also a qualified personal trainer and sports scientist, and he combines this knowledge with his chess training.
