Sergey Vladimirovich Domogatsky is a Russian chess Grandmaster (GM). He was born on the 12th of January 1975 in Serov, Russia. He earned his Grandmaster title in 1997.
Domogatsky played for Russia in the World Youth U26 Team Chess Championship in 1994 and 1996. He won the silver team medal on the 3rd board on both occasions.
He has also participated in several Chess Olympiads. He represented Russia at the 36th Chess Olympiad in 2004, and won the team gold medal.
He played for Russia in the European Team Chess Championship (ETCC) in 2005 and 2011. In 2005, his team won the gold medal and in 2011, they won the silver medal.
In addition to his success in team tournaments, Domogatsky has also achieved significant individual success. He won the Russian U26 Chess Championship in 1996. He also won the Reggio Emilia chess tournament in 2002/2003.
Domogatsky is currently a FIDE senior trainer and works closely with the Russian national team.
