Valentin Dragnev is a notable Austrian chess Grandmaster. Born on 5th November 1999, Dragnev took to chess in his early years and quickly demonstrated great talent in his performances at various tournaments. He achieved the title of International Master in 2015 and later became a Grandmaster in 2017.
Some of the most significant highlights of Dragnev's chess career include his victories at the European U16 Championship in 2015 and at the European Youth Chess Championship (where he won the U8 section) when he was a child.
In terms of national achievement in Austria, Dragnev won the Austrian Chess Championship in 2018 and 2019. He also represented Austria in the 43rd Chess Olympiad in 2018 and took part in the European Team Chess Championship the same year.
