Dronavalli Harika is an Indian chess player who was born on January 12, 1991 in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. She holds the title of Grandmaster and is also a three-time Women's World Chess Championship bronze medalist. From 2006 to 2011, she held the title of Woman Grandmaster. She was awarded the Arjuna Award for her contributions to chess in 2007.


In her early years as a chess player, Harika won the Under-9 Girls National Championship and Under-10 Girls Asian Championship. She also took first place at the World Youth Chess Championship in the Under-14 category. Her maiden international title came in 2006 when she was declared the youngest Women's Grandmaster, even with a round to spare, at the 2006 3rd Dato' Arthur Tan Malaysia Open Chess Championship.


In women's chess, Dronavalli Harika received third place in the Women's World Chess Championship of 2012, 2015 and 2017. She also managed to win the Commonwealth Championship for women in 2006, 2007, and 2010, demonstrating an impressive level of consistency over the years. In 2011, she received the Men's GM title awarded by the FIDE.


Aside from the individual accolades she has received, Harika also managed to perform well in the World Team Championships and the Chess Olympiads, particularly in helping the Indian Women's team secure a bronze medal at the 2014 Chess Olympiad in Tromso, Norway.
