Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus is a Turkish chess grandmaster, born in Bursa on June 3, 2011. Introduced to chess by his kindergarten teacher, he was playing by the age of six and was awarded the International Master title before turning twelve - the youngest player from Turkey to reach it. In 2024 he became the fourth-youngest grandmaster in history at the time, and held the mantle of the world's youngest grandmaster from April 2024 until May 2026.

His rise has been record-breaking throughout: later in 2024 he became the youngest player ever to reach a 2600 Elo rating, and in May 2026 the youngest in history to cross 2700, beating the previous record by almost a year.
