Sipke Ernst is a Dutch chess Grandmaster and trainer. Born on January 8, 1979, in Damwoude, Netherlands, his early career highlights include winning the Four Provinces Chess Cup in 2002, 2004, 2005, and 2006. He was awarded the Grandmaster title in 2007 and won the Netherlands Chess Championship in 2012. Also in 2012, Ernst won the Batavia Chess Tournament. In September 2014, he won the 24th NATO Chess Championship and clinched the North Sea Cup in 2015. He has also competed in several Chess Olympiads for the Netherlands team. As a trainer, he has worked with other elite players and has served as a trainer for the Deutsche Schachjugend, the German youth team.
