Flom took the top spot in the French National Youth Chess Championships in 2016 and 2018, as well as winning the Chalons-en-Champagne Open in 2016. He had a strong performance at the 2019 Saint-Louis Rapid & Blitz tournament, where he scored victories over well-known grandmasters.
Flom ended 2020 with a series of successes, including finishing second in the French Championship and first at the French Rapid Championship. He started the 2021 World Rapid Championship strongly, but a poor second day saw him finish in 28th place.
By winning a tournament in Serbia in March 2021, Flom achieved his last Grandmaster norm, and officially became a Grandmaster in May 2021. The title was ratified by FIDE in November 2021. He is currently one of the most promising young players in France.
