András Flumbort is a Hungarian chess grandmaster. Born on 1st April, 1983 in Budapest, Flumbort earned his Grandmaster title in 2008. He completed his university studies at the Budapest College of Communication and Business, focusing on commerce and marketing. Flumbort first demonstrated his chess abilities from a young age, achieving 1st place in the under-10 category at the European Youth Chess Championship in 1993.



In his career, Flumbort has had many notable victories. In 2009, he won the Hastings Masters open tournament. In 2010, he became the national champion in rapid chess. In duo competitions with fellow grandmaster Péter Ács, Flumbort achieved 2nd place at the 2011 Amber Blindfold and Rapid tournament, and 3rd at the same event in 2013. He also performed well in the Hungarian Championships, earning second place in 2010 and first in 2012.


Flumbort's significant contributions to the chess world have brought him recognition and success, and although retired, he continues to have a passion for the game.
