Laurent Fressinet is a French chess player who was awarded the title of Grandmaster (GM) by FIDE in 2000. He was born on November 30, 1981, in Dax, Landes.
Fressinet has achieved several accomplishments in his career. He was a two-time French national chess champion, having won in 2010 and 2014. He also represented France at the Chess Olympiad multiple times. In 2007, Fressinet won the European Blitz Championship. In 2012, he secured his first win in a super-tournament, coming first at Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meeting.
He was also part of the winning team in the 2008, 2011 and 2012 French Team Championships with his team Évry Grand Roque. In 2015, Fressinet worked as one of the seconds for Magnus Carlsen during the World Chess Championship.
