GM Luís Galego

Luís Galego is a Portuguese chess grandmaster. He was born on May 14, 1966, in Lisbon. Galego has made significant contributions to Portuguese chess. He won the national chess championship in 1999 and 2001. He frequently represents Portugal in international chess competitions like the Chess Olympiad, where he has participated since 1986. Galego was awarded the Grandmaster title by FIDE in 1998; he was the second Portuguese player to get such title. Galego has also played online chess; he was part of the Portugal Chess Masters 2020 Online event. He works as an architect.
