Miklos Galyas is a Hungarian chess player who was awarded the title of Grandmaster (GM) by FIDE in 2008. Born on February 11, 1979, in NagykÅ‘rös, Hungary, he began learning chess at a young age. After garnering several chess titles during his youth, he took a break from the activity in order to focus on his education.


In 2010, he returned to the chess world and has since competed in several international competitions. Some of his notable tournaments include the 35th Chess Olympiad, the 2010 Warsaw Najdorf Memorial Chess Tournament, the 2012 EC-Cup, the 2014 Dubai Open Chess Tournament, the 2015 Abu Dhabi Chess Festival, the 2016 Balagna Chess Festival, and the 2018 Goa Grandmaster Open Tournament.


Miklos Galyas has competed for the Hungarian team in the European Team Chess Championships and the Chess Olympiad. He has also played for several clubs throughout his career, including Clichy Échecs 92, Club d'Échecs de Genève, Sissa, Charlois Europoort, and SF Deizisau.



Off the chessboard, Galyas has pursued a career in finance and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. He is known for his philanthropy, supporting several charitable initiatives throughout his career.
