Timur Gareyev (born March 3, 1988 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan) is an American chess grandmaster who was previously one of the top 100 players worldwide. He became a grandmaster at the young age of 16, and was the 2004 champion for Asia's under-16 players.

Gareyev played for the University of Texas at Brownsville’s chess team, helping them win their first-ever national championship. He also represented the United States in the 2012 Chess Olympiad.

Gareyev is known for his exceptional ability to play blindfold chess, a style of play where one does not look at the board while playing. He holds the Guinness World Record for most simultaneous games of blindfold chess, playing 48 games at the same time in 2016, with 35 wins, 7 draws, and 6 losses.

Outside of chess, Gareyev pursues interests in yoga and fitness, occasionally incorporating physical activity into his chess training. He also develops multilingual, chess-related educational content and programs for children.

He migrated from Uzbekistan to the United States in the early 2000s to pursue his education and further his chess career. Both in the early and current part of his career, Gareyev has achieved significant victories against top-rated players.
