Einar J. Gausel (born October 3, 1963) is a Norwegian chess player who carries the Grandmaster (GM) title, which he earned in 1994 after winning the Scandinavian Championship. In addition, Gausel was twice selected to represent his country in international team competitions: at the 31st Chess Olympiad held in Moscow, Russia in 1994, where the Norwegian team secured 28th place, and at the 32nd Chess Olympiad in 1996 in Yerevan, Armenia, where Gausel had an outstanding personal performance and his team finished 34th.



Professionally, Gausel works as an IT Consultant with an IT degree from the University of Bergen. Notably, he has designed a popular program used by many to aid in the construction of crossword puzzles.
