GM Petar Genov

Petar Genov is a Bulgarian chess Grandmaster (GM) who was born on 23 July 1985. He won the Bulgarian National Chess Championship in 2013 and 2018. He received his Grandmaster title in 2007 after completing the three GM norms for performance, as required by the World Chess Federation. Genov represents Bulgaria in a number of international individual and team competitions. He finished second in the European Youth Chess Championship U10 in 1995 and U14 in 1999. He also became the champion of Balkan U20 Championship in 2004, and jointly won the Open Karposh Tournament in 2012.
