Cem Kaan Gökerkan is a Turkish International Chess Grandmaster. He was born on June 8, 2005 in Turkey.
In 2019, at the age of 14, he earned his Grandmaster (GM) title, becoming the youngest Turkish chess player to achieve this designation. Before this, he had also earned the titles of Candidate Master (CM) in 2016, FIDE Master (FM) in 2017, and International Master (IM) in 2018.
Gökerkan has represented Turkey in several international tournaments. These include the World Youth Chess Championships, where he placed third in the Under-11 category in 2016 and the European Youth Chess Championship, where he achieved fifth place in the Under-10 category in 2015 and second place in the Under-12 category in 2017.
In addition to his competition success, Gökerkan has also made significant contributions to chess theory, notably on the Sicilian Defence, Najdorf Variation.
