Vitali Golod is a Ukrainian-Israeli chess Grandmaster. He was born on March 23, 1971, in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He achieved his Grandmaster title in 1996. Golod won the Israeli Chess Championship in 1998. He also represented Israel in the 35th Chess Olympiad in 2002. In recent years, he has largely shifted from playing chess to training other players.

Golod is known for his aggressive style, which is characterized by tactical ideas and deep calculations. He performs best in complex situations where he can exploit his ability to foresee unpredictable moves. However, this playing style also results in a higher rate of errors, which can lead to unexpected losses.

In team events, Golod has achieved considerable success. He helped Beer Sheva Chess Club to consecutively win five European Club Cup tournaments from 2003-2007. Alongside his chess playing and coaching career, Vitali Golod has also written several pieces in a chess column for an Israeli Russian-language newspaper. He has worked with many young talented chess players, demonstrating his dedication to the development of chess.
