Renier Gonzalez is a Cuban American chess Grandmaster. He achieved the titles of National Master in 1993, International Master in 1998, and Grandmaster in 2008. He was a member of the Cuban team that participated in the 1998 Chess Olympiad and played for the U.S. Senior team, winning the gold medal in 2018.
In addition to his playing career, Gonzalez is known for his contributions to chess education. He has written chess books, designed chess training software, and was coach of the 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 National High School (K-12) Chess Championship teams. He has also served as a Chess in School coach in Broward County, Florida.
