In 2017, Sarhan Guliev published an opening book called, "The Complete Manual of Positional Chess: The Russian Chess School 2.0". The Russian 2.0 variant was published as two volumes in 2020. Sarhan Guliev is also the author of over 200 published articles.
Guliev has also served as coach for competitive chess players, including: Vladimir Akopian, a GM and former World Chess champion; Zurab Azmaiparashvili, a GM and former World Junior Chess Champion, and; Maia Chiburdanidze, a GM and Women's World Chess Champion.
Sarhan Guliev has been deeply involved in the international chess scene as a player, writer and coach.
