Namig Abdulla oglu Guliyev is an Azerbaijani chess player who earned his prestigious chess grandmaster (GM) title back in 1996. He was part of the Azerbaijani national team that participated in a range of international competitions such as Chess Olympiads and European Team Chess Championships.
From 1999 to 2000, Guliyev seized his moment of glory by winning the Azerbaijan Chess Championship. Guliyev was born on June 19, 1974, and started making a name for himself in the chess community at quite a young age. During his career, he has collaborated with the International chess federation (FIDE). His peak rating, achieved in 2005, was 2598.
After his athletic career, Guliyev pursued his interest in teaching. He became an International chess trainer in 2005, assisting others in honing their chess skills. His pupils came from various countries, including Azerbaijan and Iran. Some of them have even become champions of their own countries and have been successful in international competitions.
