Arthur earned his National Master title in 2017, just before his twelfth birthday, and his International Master title in 2020. In 2019, he won the Barber Tournament of K-8 Champions with a clear first place, eventually leading his home state, Georgia, to a victory in the event. He currently studies with Grandmaster Ben Finegold.

In addition to his successes, several articles have been published about Arthur Guo in a variety of publications. He has also played several notable games throughout his career including the 2021 Charlotte Chess Center's IM Norm Invitational.
