Gadir Guseinov is an Azerbaijani chess Grandmaster and a well-known chess trainer. He was born on May 21, 1986 in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR, Soviet Union. He gained the title of Grandmaster (GM) in 2002, and since then, he has achieved several notable successes in his career.


Guseinov became the Champion of Azerbaijan three times and also won the Turkish Super League. He has represented his country in numerous international tournaments such as Chess Olympiad, the World Team Chess Championship and the European Team Chess Championship. He has won several individual and team awards in these tournaments. Guseinov played for the gold medal-winning team from Azerbaijan in the 2015 European Team Championship.


Guseinov is also known for his victories in some other international chess tournaments such as the Dubai Open and in the Baku Open. He tied for first place in the Corsican Circuit rapid tournament in 2007. In 2014, Guseinov participated in the FIDE Grand Prix event held in Baku, and finished in second place at the European Blitz Chess Championship in 2014.


He has been a FIDE Senior Trainer since 2014, and he enjoys a high reputation in professional chess training. Alongside his professional chess career, he is also a coach at the PRO Chess League and the ShahMatKanal YouTube channel. He has also created the ChessMatec app, which is considered a top application for children learning chess worldwide. His distinct analytical approach has helped many budding players improve their games.
