Petr Hába is a Czech chess Grandmaster and a participant in five Chess Olympiads. He was born in Prague in 1965 and earned the International Master title in 1992 and the Grandmaster title in 1995.
Hába has a notable reputation nationally, having completed in the Czechoslovak Championship in 1991 and becoming a regular entrant in the Czech Championship, with his best result in 1999 where he came second.
Internationally, he represented Czechoslovakia and later the Czech Republic in five Chess Olympiads in 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, and 2004. His best result in these came fourth with his team in 1992.
In the European Club Cup, he has also competed for several Czech teams, with his highest achievement being helping the ŠK Mahrla Prague team secure third place in 1992.
Hába is also noted for his contribution to 'chess composition', having many chess problems published in various magazines, for which he has achieved several awards. He has also written three books on chess composition, including '255 Chess Evolutions' and '1000 Chess Problems'.
