Ramil Hasangatin is a Russian chess Grandmaster hailing from the Republic of Tatarstan. He gained his FIDE Candidate Master title in 1996 and subsequently made progress onto the FIDE Master ranking in 1999. Hasangatin then secured his International Master title in 2002, followed by obtaining the Grandmaster's title in 2008.
Hasangatin has participated in several competitive chess tournaments in his career. In 1995, he won the U18 Russian Chess Championship and in 1999, he placed 7th in the U20 World Chess Championship. He also represented his home country of Russia in the European Championship of 2007. He performed incredibly well in other competitions including the Moscow Championship in 2006 and 2007, retaining second place both times.
