Thorsten Michael Haub is an accomplished German chess grandmaster. He was born on August 13, 1968, in Trier, Germany. In 1989, at the age of 21, he was awarded the title of International Master by FIDE. Nine years later in 1998, he was awarded the Grandmaster title. Haub is known for three successful tournament results that contributed to his Grandmaster title. These included Essen 1991, Bundesliga 1995–96, and Bundesliga 1996–97. He was awarded the Chess Bundesliga championship title in 1998. Among his notable games, he defeated Computer Schach in 2003. Haub is also an accomplished chess coach and has written articles for various chess magazines, cementing his importance in the field.
