Csaba Horváth is a Hungarian Chess Grandmaster. He became an international master in 1987 and a grandmaster in 1993. Born in Budapest, Hungary, he is regarded for his contributions to the methodology of chess training. He particularly encourages studying classical games and focusing on the process of decision-making.


Horváth has represented Hungary multiple times in team competitions. He was part of the Hungarian national team that won bronze at the Chess Olympiad in Novi Sad in 1990. At the European Team Chess Championship, Horváth won individual gold (1992) and team silver (1997), and shared first place at the Hungarian Championship in 1997.


As a dedicated coach and chess trainer, Horváth trained World Junior Champion Peter Leko between 1990 and 1994. He also worked with Hungarian Women's Champion Szidonia Vajda and served as the head coach of the Hungarian Women's team at the European Team Chess Championships in 2005 and 2007.


Horváth authored the book "Chess Strategy for Club Players", and co-wrote "The Great Book of Chess Tactics". His primary focus includes decision making processes, structure of thinking, distribution of resources, time management and pattern recognition.
