Enamul Hossain is a Bangladeshi chess Grandmaster. He was born on 27 December 1980 in Rangpur, Bangladesh. Hossain won the Bangladesh Chess Championship six times and is arguably the best chess player in Bangladesh.


In 2007-2008, Hossain became the first player from Bangladesh to win the Hastings International Chess Congress, a competition with a long history dating back to 1920. This was a landmark achievement in Bangladeshi chess.


Hossain has had significant international success, including bronze medal performances at the World Junior Chess Championship in 1999 and the Commonwealth Chess Championship in 2006. His career highlights also include a gold medal in the Under-12 division of the World Youth Chess Championship in 1993.


Hossain has achieved impressive results against notable players. He has defeated former World Junior Chess Champion Abhijit Gupta of India and former World Chess Champion Ruslan Ponomariov of Ukraine.
