Dragoljub Janošević was a well-known Serbian chess international grandmaster. Born on 9th March 1929 and deceased on 20th April 2015, Janošević was famous for his games against several World Chess Champions, especially one against Bobby Fischer, a renowned American chess grandmaster.

Janošević's chess career peaked in the 1960s when he frequently played international tournaments against notable grandmasters of the same era. He became a grandmaster by FIDE, the international governing body for chess, in the year 1970.

Throughout his career, he participated in nine Yugoslav Chess Championships, his best results being in 1965 when he finished third. He also finished third at the 1960 Mar del Plata tournament.

However, he is best known for his informal match against Bobby Fischer in 1958, which resulted in Fischer's only loss during his visit to the Yugoslavia tournament. This game against Fischer continued to be studied in books and manuals dealing with the Sicilian Defence, Najdorf Variation.
