Rinat Jumabayev is a Kazakhstani Grandmaster (GM) in chess. Born on November 23, 1989, his chess career began early in life. He achieved a significant milestone at the 3rd World School Chess Championship in Heraklio, Crete, Greece in 2007 where he finished first in the under-17 category.


In July 2007, Rinat was awarded the title of International Master (IM), following his exceptional performances in international tournaments. Later on, in the very same month, he won the bronze medal at the World Junior Chess Championship in Yerevan, Armenia.


Following his success as an IM, Rinat was awarded the GM title in 2009. This came on the heels of his impressive performance in World Junior Chess Championships where he finished fifth in the overall category.


Rinat's career has been marked with numerous successes. In 2010, he won the Kazakhstan Chess Championship. Then, in 2017, he astonishingly won all nine games at the Aeroflot Open B tournament in Moscow, Russia. continued his winning streak and in 2019, He shared first place at the Abu Dhabi Chess Festival with five other players.
