Boris Kantsler is a Ukrainian-Israeli international chess player who received his FIDE master tile in 2001 and his grandmaster title in 2003. He was born on June 17, 1974 in Ukraine and moved to Israel in 1992. Kantsler has won numerous chess competitions, including the Israel Chess Championship in 2004 and the World Open in Philadelphia three times. In 2018, he was ranked 88th among active players in Israel. Kantsler is also a professional chess coach, instructing both individual students and teams. His coaching experience includes coaching the Israel national youth team. He has also contributed to the development of chess education in Israel by publishing numerous chess books and articles, and developing educational software and websites.
