Karthik Venkataraman is an Indian chess player holding the title of Grandmaster (GM), a prestigious title awarded by the World Chess Federation. Venkataraman was born on August 15, 1999, in the Indian city of Vijayawada. He was introduced to chess at a young age and began to show promise, receiving the title of Grandmaster in 2018.
The young chess player has also represented his country internationally. In 2018, he was part of the Indian chess team that participated in the 43rd Chess Olympiad held in Georgia. Venkataraman's contribution significantly helped the team to achieve a respectable 6th place finish. He also participated in the World Junior Chess Championship in Italy during the same year, finishing within the top 20.
