GM Ilya Khmelniker

Ilya Khmelniker is a well-known Israeli chess player and international grandmaster. He was born on December 16, 1956 in Kiev, Ukraine. His notable accomplishments in chess include being a member of the Israeli national chess team, and he also won the Israeli Chess Championship in 2003. He achieved the title of an International Master in 1994 and improved to Grandmaster in 2002. He has demonstrated a particular strength in team tournaments, playing for Israeli teams both domestically and internationally. In addition to his competitive play, Khmelniker also engages with chess as a coach and trainer.
