Dmitry Kokarev is a Russian Chess Grandmaster, born on 20th June 1982. Prominent throughout the 21st century, Kokarev achieved the title of 'Grandmaster' with FIDE (the international chess federation) in 2001. He has competed in tournaments across Russia and internationally, including the Russian Chess Championship.
Kokarev has made a significant impact in the Russian Premier League, playing as one of the representatives from his home region of Ugra. His performance contributed widely to the regional team’s success in the championships of 2009, 2010 and 2012, which they won.
In 2005, Kokarev claimed two major successes. He secured first place in the Open Cup of Russia and emerged as a winner in the Czech Open tournament. Kokarev continued his success, capturing first place in the Chigorin Memorial three times (2012, 2013, and 2015) in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
