Davorin Komljenović is a Croatian chess player holding the title of Grandmaster (GM). Born on August 15, 1946, in Croatia, he was also a FIDE International Organizer. In 1967, he participated in the World Junior Chess Championship in Jerusalem. By 1970, he was involved in the Premier League of the Yugoslav Chess Championship. Komljenović achieved the title of International Master in 1978. In 1984, he was invited to the World Chess Olympiad in Thessaloniki, where his team won a bronze team medal.
Following his career as a player, Komljenović was also active as a chess arbiter and coach. He was successful as a coach and driver in Germany, where he helped the German chess youth champions win in the German National Youth Cup in 2007 and 2008. Aside from that, Komljenović served as a member of the Executive Board of the Chess Federation of Solingen, a major chess center in Germany. He contributed not only as a chess arbiter but also as a successful organizer of many tournaments and chess events, receiving the title of FIDE International Organizer. Komljenović was titled Grandmaster in 2014, which he received for his exceptional contribution to the international development of chess.
