Alexey Korotylev is a Russian chess Grandmaster, FIDE International Master, as well as FIDE Trainer. Born in 1977, he was titled International Grandmaster in 2001.
Korotylev consistently performed to high standards throughout his chess career. He won the 2016 Russian Chess Championship Higher League, following up with a 9th place in the Superfinal of the Russian Chess Championship. He also represented Russia in European Team Chess Championships and World Chess Championships.
At club level, Korotylev has participated in a multitude of different chess leagues, from the Dutch Chess Championship to the Bulgarian Team Chess Championship. He led his team, 'Finek Gazproma', to a victory in the 2002 Russian Team Chess Championship and later, in 2006, scored the maximum points in the Turkish Is Bank Chess League. He won the Dutch Team Chess Championship thrice in 2004, 2013 and 2015.
As for his coaching career, Korotylev has coached some of Russia's top young chess talents. He also worked with the Russian Chess Federation as a trainer, where he conducted master classes and attempted to popularize the game of Chess across Russia.
