Vladimir Kosyrev is a Russian chess Grandmaster. He was born on 18th September 1982. Kosyrev earned his Grandmaster title in January 2004. He's particularly known for earning the World U16 Championship in 1998.
His career has seen some significant successes. In 1999, he came in second place at the U18 European Championship and in 2003, he won the Russian U20 Championship. The same year, he participated and ranked first in St. Petersburg's 100 Years of Tchigorin Memorial.
Representing St. Petersburg's Chess Federation, Kosyrev has had a significant role in the Chess Premier League, a team competition. He played a part in winning the Russian Team Championship in 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2009.
Additionally, he took part in two Chess Olympiads - Calvià Olympiad in 2004 where Russia won gold, and in 2006 where Russia came fifth.
In 2019, Kosyrev won the Moscow Open B, a Chess festival organized by the Russian State Social University, and the Moscow Chess Federation.
