Stamatis Kourkoulos-Arditis is a Greek chess player, born on 7 January 1995, who became a Grandmaster, the highest title a chess player can attain, in October 2021. He is also the sixth Greek chess player to have achieved the Grandmaster title.
Kourkoulos-Arditis began playing chess at a young age and is a member of the Marousi Chess Club in Athens, Greece. In 2012, he won the Greek Youth Championship and the European Small Nations Individual Championship.
In 2013 and 2017, he represented Greece in the World Youth Under 18 Chess Championship and the European Small Nations Team Championship respectively. He participated in the Chess World Cup 2021 but was eliminated in the first round.
Outside of chess, Kourkoulos-Arditis holds a degree in Management Science and Technology from the Athens University of Economics and Business.
