Zdenko Kožul is a Croatian chess grandmaster. Throughout his career, he has taken part in numerous tournaments and achieved significant success. He won the World Junior Chess Championship in 1989, which led him to earn the title of Grandmaster. Later, he also won the Croatian Chess Championship five times. In 2006, he won the European Individual Chess Championship.
He was also part of several Olympiads as a key member of the Croatian national team. In the 37th Chess Olympiad, the team was ranked fourth, marking a significant achievement. He also achieved success in the Chess World Cup, reaching the third round in the 2005 and 2007 tournaments.
Kožul's most significant success in club competitions was in 2006 when he was a member of the team that won the European Club Cup.
