Ján Krejčí is a Czech chess player who gained the title of Grandmaster (GM) in 2012. He was born on March 18, 1988. Krejčí competed in the final of the national championship as early as 2007, but did not secure a championship win until 2019. His highest FIDE ranking to date was 2569 in November 2013.
Krejčí has had an illustrious career in team competitions. From 2008 to 2010, he participated in the European Club Cup for the club 1. Novoborský ŠK. In 2013, he helped win the Czech Republic's national team championship. He also played for the Czech Republic in the Mitropa Cup in 2008 and 2009, with the team winning in 2009. From 2011 onward, he has been a part of the Extraliga team, Tatran Litovel.
Internationally, Krejčí competed in the European Individual Chess Championship in 2012 and the Chess World Cup in 2013. He did not advance past the first round of the Chess World Cup, defeated by former world chess champion, Ruslan Ponomariov. In 2016 and 2018, he played in the Chess Olympiad as part of the Czech team.
