Irina Krush is an American chess grandmaster who is best known for being the youngest U.S. woman to earn the title of International Master (IM) at the age of 14. She was born on December 24, 1983, in Odessa, USSR. She learned chess at age five after moving to Brooklyn, New York with her parents.
In May 2020, it was announced that she had tested positive for COVID-19, but she later stated she had made a full recovery.
Krush was made an honorary member of the Metropolitan Chess Club for her contributions to the game.
