Viktor Kupreichik was a renowned Belarusian chess grandmaster. Born in 1949, he won many national-level championships including the Belarusian championship seven times. He achieved the title of International Grandmaster in 1980.
Kupreichik was known for his aggressive playing style and creative strategies, which earned him victories in prestigious tournaments such as Hastings 1971, Gausdal 1980 and several others. He was also successful in team competitions, representing Belarus and the Soviet Union on multiple occasions.
In his later years, Kupreichik was also a chess trainer. He contributed to the development of younger talents, such as Sergei Zhigalko, a current grandmaster. Kupreichik passed away in 2017, leaving behind a significant legacy in the world of chess.
