Yuriy Kuzubov is a Ukrainian chess grandmaster and multiple-time Ukrainian youth champion. He was born on January 26, 1990 in the city of Saki, Crimea. Kuzubov achieved fame in his youth, becoming an international master in 2001 at 11 years old, and gaining the grandmaster title in 2004 at age 14. This marked him as the youngest grandmaster in the world at that time.
Kuzubov has a prolific history in youth chess championships, with a number of significant achievements. These include winning the U10 European Youth Chess Championship in 2000, the U12 World Youth Chess Championship in 2002, and finishing as runner-up in the U14 category in 2004. As an adult, he has achieved top-place finishes in multiple international tournaments including the Cappelle-la-Grande Open in 2008, the Mumbai Mayor's Cup in 2010, and the Abu Dhabi Chess Festival in 2017.
